Life Update—Kind of

Winter in Huanglong Scenic Area, Sichuan

For the umpteenth time, I have to use the phrase of “It’s been a while since the last time I was writing here…” because, again, for the umpteenth time, I’ve been keeping this blog away from a new post since almost a year ago. “Business” has always been the excuse, but this time it was slightly different.

Initially, I was planning to make my second post about Vietnam in June 2024 following the first edition, but my life was turning topsy-turvy in the mid of 2024. From being promoted to new a position, stationed for a new project—all while I still have to juggle between my own plan—before I eventually decided to resign and pursue my master’s degree.

Both the new position and the new project were happening simultaneously and there was a period where my shift was changing five times in the course of four weeks between June and July because of the latter, but I had to bear with it because none of us had any choice—if you know, you know.

Long story short, the day of my resignation arrived. I left the company, spent a few days in my home country and eventually flew to Beijing. I was not an easy decision, but as I have mentioned in one of my LinkedIn posts, I have my own reason before I ultimately took the decision. I’m not gonna be repeating myself, so if you guys are interested, you guys can check that post instead.

So, how’s life, you asked? It has been good so far. It took me a while to adjust to the habit of studying and the back-to-school environment, but all-in-all, the experience has been satisfying. I’ve met a lot of amazing people and I’ve visited some incredible places in China during my spare time. Hopefully I’ll have the will to write about them. I’m not gonna promise though.

Now that we have just finished our last exam of the first semester about two weeks ago, I guess I can safely say that probably I’m gonna be chilling a bit and while waiting for the new semester to start, I’ll be travelling again somewhere. Until then, see you on my next post!
